There's really not a whole lot
I can tell you about Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium, because I've never
actually been to a game there. I was able to snap these pictures on
the way between two other ballparks.
I can, however, share a few interesting facts about the place. The
team that plays there was at one time partly owned by racecar driver Dale
Earnhardt, Sr. In fact, the current name of the team was in honor of
his nickname on the racetrack, "The Intimidator". I
was actually surprised at how little this theme is played throughout the
park, as I saw a NASCAR leader's board (see picture below), but that was
about it. Of course, they may do more than that at game time.
Unfotunately, Earnhardt never saw his new team play, because he came on
board in November 2000 and regrettably died in the now-infamous Daytona
crash the following February.
A few other notes about the
stadium itself: The stands extend much farther on the right field
side than they do on the left, and the concession/administrative
structures are also a little bit more prevalent on that side. Other
than that, this looks like a fairly commonplace structure.
